The Capacity for Deep Beauty
Eris & Chiron conjunct, and the NewMoon in Gemini
This NewMoon I’ve been delving into Eris stories. Looking into her more deeply to understand her. Understand the force that is her. The energy behind the stories.
All of the archetypes are “a force of nature”, a build up of energy directed in and of themselves. And within them are potential for narratives. I’ve been pondering my own narratives for a while as the pressure has been on for all of us to ponder the narratives swirling around out there and to consider our own narratives about that.
These narratives begin when we arise on the scene with the emergence of self in Aries, projecting consciousness outward to initiate our own creative spark into existence on Earth, in Taurus.
As the wheel of consciousness progresses into Gemini we begin developing a story about our experience of our creative spark and our experience of pleasure, stories of our creative potential, our masculine and feminine nature and how we create with it and give and receive with others. Our internal story is naturally projected outward, consciousness working through to bring its medicine, its wisdom, its integration for awakening to and owning our supernatural (cosmic) origins and the doorway to that integration —first being understanding our own nature, and the remembrance of what is at the core of our being.
See, this is what Pluto is about, it’s what Venus is about, it’s what Mars is going for, what all of the planets are about. And, from my personal view, it’s what all of the sister asteroid goddesses are facilitating —the pathway to union.
Creation is where ideas and narratives are implemented, experienced and embraced deep inside the psyche for the full integration of the self, or shall we say full remembrance of the self, of self reflected through the mirror of the cosmos and the mirror in each other.
This story and this narrative around the creative impulse, the masculine and the feminine, their union producing creation itself, is a narrative that begins with the exchange of ideas about our creative nature in Gemini.
In Gemini, where our new moon is, is where we distribute the value we’ve produced through our own creative nature, Mars and Venus, and we connect with each other to share and receive more information to expand our awareness of our own nature and creative principle.
This new moon occurred, on May 26th, at 6+ Gemini trine Pluto , with Mercury conjunct and Jupiter, ruler of the north node square the nodes, which feels to me a pressure to really consider deeply the meaning we make of things by the internal narrative we follow.
Eris and Chiron in Aries are conjunct. They are merging energies and with Chiron this means healing when we make the effort to understand Eris and we honor her presence and her gift.
Eris exposes underlying tensions that are present in the undercurrent and are denied by social conditionings that support spiritual bypass.
“ Her influence is subtle but powerful showing that discord does not always manifest itself in big confrontations but through subtle seeds planted in the fabric of relationships “
Eris, though called the Goddess of Discord, is sensitive to what’s going on underneath the surface, and she reveals the subtleties of social disgrace and exclusion that excludes a deeper beauty we can experience in relating socially with each other.
Chiron conjunct though has the potential to bring the healing necessary to our sense of self in order to stand and speak for oneself amidst these subtle violations and speak up through our own Eris wisdom.
How could the goddess of discord be wisdom? —understanding that may be the key to the healing, making the social shadows clear and the understanding that disruptive energies are often a catalyst to a deeper self awareness socially that is necessary for deep beauty rather than social facades and competition. Eris just may be the Goddess of Discord but not in the way we think … she just may be the goddess that brings the opposite of discord when she is embraced.
Paradoxically, all the goddesses whom have been “demonized”, are ones that can teach great wisdom that often isn’t apparent on the surface but when looking from a different angle or perspective can be quite enlightening and bring necessary overall health to social conditionings.
In a general sense the collective has been taught through the Piscean age that it isn’t “pretty” or acceptable to rock the established social order or to expose the darkness that lurks behind being “nice” or “pleasing” amidst the subtle seeds of disrespect, exclusion, and fake harmony present in social interactions. We’ve been taught to be “good” girls and boys over naming the darkness in culture, community, and family. And those who speak to it are often shunned, cast out, demonized, or scapegoated for doing so because it’s so much nicer to pretend that people do not compete with you when you walk into the party, to pretend that we don’t see the self serving displays of the idea of community at the party, to pretend the ego is not selfishly styling itself to get what it wants even if at the expense of others.
Eris exposes it. Eris is fed up with it. And her exposing disrupts the facade of all those involved at the party —Zues, Aphrodite, Athena, Hera, Paris.
We have to understand we all have this somewhere in our own nature, all the planets, all gods and goddesses, their nature is within us because we are the mirror and expression of the cosmos. We are the stars and the planets we see in the night sky. All of these energies have light and shadow expressions, and through understanding that we are willing to awaken to what we haven’t discovered yet and awaken to our natural self in a deeper way, to know thyself.
We are all of them and their shadows can be activated in very subtle ways, this is one way we awaken to our potentials.
At the Gemini new moon we can utilize our Gemini consciousness to get curious about the way we look at things socially, and recognize where it is we can begin the healing process around the unconscious ways we create separation in how we express our power— our masculine and feminine energies— how we’ve witnessed and experienced social disrespect, exclusion, and elitism in social circles , in our families of origin, in society and culture, in the ways we think and how that causes connections or disconnections in the way we experience life socially.
Also at NewMoon Gemini, Eros, god of erotic, is conjunct the north node in Pisces and square Jupiter in Gemini as well.
Speaking to Eros, when we investigate to the core of our nature as humans we are creative beings, first and foremost therefore sexual beings designed to continue the creative nature of our species and its expression. The bottom line is our stories are sparked from our own creative nature and our narrative our relationship to our creative nature and erotic nature as well, our sexual energy, Mars and Venus, and the integration of these forces in order to create.
This is why we love beauty because beauty is derived from the creative act… Mars and Venus, and power is derived from the union of the two and the natural eroticism that is inherent between these two energies within. The erotic is our attraction to union of the masculine and feminine principles expressed on the physical dimension.
Eros will carry on into Aries and conjunct Saturn, Neptune, and eventually Eris and Chiron which can bring the potential for healing around the creative and sexual undercurrents, how others handle them and compete to create and satisfy their internal narrative around what we believe or have been taught to believe around one of the greatest creative forces we all have, our own creative spark and our sexual nature that drives us to create stories in the first place.
We all know the saying “sex sells” but why is that? It’s because we are naturally fascinated by the core of creation. But it’s also taboo, it brings up fear in many people and their own personal narrative around sex and sexuality.
In Eris’ myth Paris chooses Aphrodite’s bribe to marry the most beautiful over victory in battles offered from Athena, over all the riches offered by Hera. Paris chose union with the most beautiful woman in the world. And interesting that it was the golden apple thrown by Eris with words inscribed “to the fairest” showing rivalry around themes and competitions that surround beauty and creating beauty.
Eris asks us to awaken to a deeper beauty. Though Eris is known to bring discord, when looking at all of the dynamics socially she is mirroring the discord that is already present in the social relating and because of it she brings an awakening to everyone at the party, the awakening that the discord is already present, she is not the cause of it but the one sensitive enough to sense it and awaken the group to it.
It’s shocking and it’s “ugly” and it’s why she is cast out and labeled the one who brings the discord because generally speaking humans like to be comfortable and feel secure and often derive comfort and security through maintaining the status quo, perceived by the ego as at least survivable. Humans don’t like to acknowledge their own dark side, hence the projecting the problem is the one who exposes it.
Looking at Eris more deeply her initiation is dismantling what is inauthentic in order for a deeper beauty to emerge within the self and within relating and relationships that can only occur by her disruption.
Eris interactions can be quite heated but she is a warrior for deep truth and initiating the exploration of a deeper beauty that is ultimately necessary for all of us to create it.
